How does the one to one coaching programme work?

A typical one to one Executive Coaching programme would include 6 monthly face-to-face sessions, with interim telephone and email support to keep the agreed actions on track. Sessions usually last for an hour, with the first session being longer to discuss individual programme goals. If appropriate, those goals are agreed at the outset that with their line manager if appropriate, which will provides the framework for their programme. To ensure that each session is maximised to its fullest, my clients submit a focus form prior to each session, which clarifies their achievements and details what they want to focus on in the next session. At the end of each session, they complete a feedback form detailing the main topics discussed, their realisations and the actions arising. In addition to these vital focus and review elements, there are also mid and endpoint reviews to check their progress against the original goals.

I’m a big fan of and use the techniques recommended by David Allen, who is one of the world’s most influential thinkers on productivity and the author of the bestselling book “Getting Things Done”.

What is the ‘First 100 Days’ programme?

Do you have new staff joining you? If like most organisations, it’s vitally important that your new recruits make an impact as quickly as possible, there are additional ways to help them. By using me as an immediately available confidant, I’ll help those important new recruits achieve success quicker than they would have done by themselves and at a time when their learning curve is likely to be at its steepest. I’ll work with them to set clear goals for what they’ll need to achieve in their first 100 days and then agree a framework that will work best for them. At the start, their sessions are likely to be every 1-2 weeks, with email and telephone support whilst I help them work towards achieving their success. Strengths profiling exercises and 360-degree feedback can also be used at the outset if appropriate.

What is the ‘Future Leadership Development’ programme?

The benefits of coaching have traditionally been reserved for senior management. With more organisations wanting to develop their leaders of tomorrow, coaching support is having a far greater impact. It’s now widely used for aspiring management who are often hungrier for personal development, and as an investment into personal development to help with people retention. Offering a wider coaching programme within your organisation doesn’t mean the costs are prohibitive. I’ll work with you to find an appropriate programme for your available budget, whether that involves scheduling with multiple managers or using a mix of both face to face and telephone coaching.
